Dear Relay Marathon Team Captain

With just seven days to go until the 2025 Relay Marathon, final preparations are well underway by our small but dedicated team. We are now sending you the entry details to Broadlands, your Event Pass and information for spectators.

The weather forecast for next weekend is hot (23°) with clear blue skies. So please remember to bring appropriate protection such as sun cream and hats.

We will have water stations around the track and there is also a refill station for your water bottles. As usual, we will be providing each runner with a bottle of water on track exit.

Following is a link to an information sheet for the event which will hopefully answer any questions you may have.

Information Sheet

Please do ensure that all your teammates have read the Information Sheet before the event as it contains important details regarding timings on Sunday and a guide as to how the race will work.

Please click on the following link for some additional information on the event which you may helpful.

Entry to Broadlands

If you’re coming by car, then please use the Romsey Sports Complex, locally known as Romsey Rapids, to enter the Estate. Turn off the A27 into the complex and the Relay Marathon car park is straight ahead. The postcode is SO51 8AF and the gate will be opened at 7:30am. Please arriva eno earlier than this time.

There is enough parking space in our car park at Broadlands for all teams and friends/family. The main event area is a short walk from the main car park but buggies are available to help you transport your stuff. Please be patient when entering and exiting the site as it is challenging to move so many cars in a short time.

For pedestrian and cyclist access, please use the main Palmerston Gates, off the small roundabout at the end of Palmerston Street which will be open at 8.00am. For those using public transport and the walking to the site, please also use this entrance. Romsey train station is a little over 1km away, and the bus station on Broadwater road is only a 3 minute walk to the gates.

Team and Family Passes

Entry to Broadlands (car or pedestrian) will only be permitted with with an 'Event' pass which must be shown at the gates. The pass is available by email request to info@romseymarathon.co.uk Passes can either be printed off or shown on your phones.

Please copy, forward and distribute the pass as you wish to your team mates and friends and family spectators. But please remember that a pass MUST be shown for admission to Broadlands.

Gazebo Areas

This year we have decided to allow teams to choose their own spaces in which your team can keep equipment, or bring along any gazebo, shelter, tables or chairs to anything else to help you enjoy the day.

However, your chosen space MUST be with within defined areas. You will find coloured cones where each one denotes the denotes the centre of a 5m by 5m pitch.

Running Numbers

Running Numbers (with enough safety pins for your team) will be available at registration when you collect the all-important baton. Only team captains or their representative need to come to registration. We will also give you a baton electronically chipped which is passed from runner to runner. Results will be sent throughout the race by text to your registered mobile phone number.

Spectators, Entertainment, Food and Drink

Please do invite and encourage friends, family and colleagues to join you on Sunday. Broadlands is a stunning venue and with entertainment for the kids. The Relay Marathon is a community focused, family oriented day out, so do make the most of it.

But please remember to give all visiting adults a copy of the Event pass.

After feedback from teams, we have increased the number of food outlets on site. We will still have the Scouts and Guides providing the BBQ and Tea and Coffee respectively, but they’ll be joined by Mexicali, Little Bee Bakery, FireHut Wood Fired Pizza, Ice Cream and Pete’s Coffee Van.

Finally, if you have any questions, concerns or think you may be missing information then please do get in touch by email info@romseymarathon.co.uk and we’ll do our best to help.

Best Wishes
The Relay Marathon Committee
